UltraWing Hammock + Webbing Straps (1 person hammock): The single 1 person hammock is designed for those weight watchers at 11oz (a great ultralight hammock for backpackers) and uses lightweight S-hooks instead of carabiners. The tradeoff being that the single offers a less spacious lounging (5ft W x 8ft L) for overnight sleeping. The UltraWing holds 450lbs, the same as the 2 person hammock. The single person hammocks pack into a small pouch the size of a mango.
-
DoubleWing Hammocks + Webbing Straps (2 person hammock): The double is the most popular due to the added space and comfort for two people at (6ft W x 10ft L). The double size hammock is great for sleeping overnight with the added space (perfect camping hammock). In addition to offering a more spacious lounging or sleeping experience than a single, it’s still relatively lightweight at 24oz and holds 450lbs. All double hammocks pack into a small pouch the size of a papaya.

BaseCamp Hammock + Webbing Straps (Jumbo Hammock) - It’s in a league of its own and the first of its kind! This party hammock is designed to hold no more than 3 people or 600lbs. BaseCamp is built to enhance the party experience. At 21ft long you need anywhere from 25ft-30ft of distance between very strong anchor points. Be careful not to let it touch the ground so that is doesn't scrape sharp objects. This is the ultimate party favor and great for festivals, parks, parties, or community events. You will be the life of the party with BaseCamp! All BaseCamp hammocks pack into a small pouch the size of a small pomeranian.
Suspension system: All hammocks include carabiners (except the UltraWing that uses S-hooks for trimming weight) that have a sufficient strength rating. But a pair of tree straps—your suspension system—is often purchased separately with other brands. FSO includes hammock straps with the purchase of every hammock, always. We use 1 inch wide polypro webbing so they won’t strip tree bark and is generally more tree friendly. We advise not using rope on trees.
Our unique Double Sided Pouch design allows you to set up your hammock in seconds. Attach one end to one straps, open the other end pulling out the entire hammock with a SNAP of the wrist! This allows you to never let your hammock touch the ground!
No hammock stand needed with an FSO hammock, although our doubles fit nicely with most standard 10ft hammock stands.
"How to Hang" Best Practices:
-
Aim for a 30-degree strap angle: A hammock hung at that angle will have enough give you a nice lay, but not so much sag that your back bows uncomfortably. If you can’t achieve 30 degrees, then go steeper, because a little sag will feel better than a boardlike flat pitch.
-
Sleep at an angle: Minimize the amount your back bends by angling your body about 10-15 degrees away from the centerline.
-
Expect to be colder than in a tent: The amount of surface area that’s exposed to cold air in a hammock is greater than in a tent. So, in addition to a good underquilt, consider taking a warmer sleeping bag.
